Platform Operations – Database Administrator for Servers and Microsoft SQL

U-Haul is seeking a Systems Administrator to join the platform operations team as a Windows server, and Database Administrator. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality, be self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude. Additionally, they will have experience working with Microsoft SQL, database encryption, and failover clustering.

Duties:

• Managing SQL Server & Database access

• Monitor and respond to SQL server performance degradation

• Make optimization recommendations to SQL queries

• Troubleshoot issues with applications connecting to SQL databases

• Perform SQL server and database maintenance

• Monitor database backups

• Respond to capacity issues on database servers

• Perform SQL upgrades

• Participate in an on-call rotation

Requirements/Education:

• 2-3 years of experience with Microsoft SQL 2016 or newer. Duties could include those listed above

• 1+ years of Windows Server experience. Duties could include patching, managing access, troubleshooting performance, etc.

• CentOS or RHEL experience preferred

• Postgres experience preferred

• A 2 year computer technology degree or equivalent work experience required
