Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Medical Director the Department Manager and Supervisor the Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for providing respiratory care services to neonatal pediatric adult and geriatric patients for St. Rose Dominican Hospital. These services will be delivered in accordance with specific physician orders and department policies and procedures.

 

  • RCP Neonate pediatric providers will be required to work a minimum of 80% of scheduled shifts in critical care.

  • This position is represented by SEIU Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Competency and skill validation required prior to being promoted to this level.

  • High school diploma

  • Completion of an approved school of respiratory by the National Board for Respiratory Care or its successor organization.

  • Outstanding clinical communication and interpersonal skills required.

  • LIC BGT = Licensed Blood Gas Technologist
  • CT RRT= Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • CT CPRBLS - Basic Life Support - AHA 
  • CT CPRACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - AHA
  • CT CPRPALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - AHA 
  • CT NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation.
  • Existing employees with >20 years experience as CRT will be grandfathered.
  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Preferred:  

  • Two years (2) or more of recent critical care experience preferred.
