JOB DESCRIPTION:
Certified Nurse Midwives are expert Advanced Nurse Practitioners in normal obstetrics and gynecology. They work collaboratively with the physician staff of the Women's Health Care Service, with the responsibility and authority to independently evalute patiens and prescribe treatment within practice guidelines and their delineation of clinical privileges. They are care providers, care managers, and educators.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, with licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Vermont.Master's degree in Nursing or Health Related field preferred.Licensure as Advanced Practice Nurse by the Vermont State Board of Nursing.Certification by the American College of Nurse-Midwives Certification Corporation.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of one year's experience in clinical practice.
