AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Schematic Project Manager for immediate employment in Houston, TX.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Direct and manage the entire project, providing guidance to subordinate managers, enforcing company and project policies, and serving as the primary liaison between AECOM and the client.
Ensure all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design specifications, budget constraints, and schedule requirements.
Oversee overall project management, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and contract closeout.
Assume primary fiscal responsibility and act as the key liaison with the client for assigned projects.
Develop and maintain project schedules, identifying critical paths and milestones to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and subcontractors, to ensure seamless project execution.
Conduct regular project status meetings and provide comprehensive reports to stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may impact project success, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Manage change orders and scope modifications, ensuring proper documentation and client approval.
Oversee quality control processes to maintain high standards of work throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and local building codes.
Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS +10 years or more of relatable or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years of previous design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development.
TxDOT Pre-certifications (Schematic Development, Roadway Design, Freeway Interchanges, Bridge Design, Multi-Level Interchange Design, Bridge Class Culverts, Signing & Pavement Markings, Illumination, Rail-Highway Design, Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities, Hydraulic Design, Environmental Studies, and Transportation System Planning)
Experience with Business Development/Client Relations
Experience with TxDOT proposals and interviews
Proven experience of success with TxDOT pursuits
Experience with managing people at various experience levels and ability to mentor with their career development
Good communication skills and ability to manage a team
