Overview

Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Solutions and Services division for a Hardware Engineer. This will be 100% onsite at the office location in Lake Forest, IL and will be M-F, 7AM-4PM.

 

The hourly pay range for this role is $33-$36/hr and will include benefits and PTO.

 

The Hardware Engineer will provide onsite support to the Data Center and Co-Location and will provide tier II support for data and network systems infrastructure. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for day-to-day activities, project work and capacity management
  • Help with data center capacity and growth planning rack and server layout
  • Installation/Removal of Cabling and Hardware
  • Repair/Troubleshooting
  • Monitoring
  • Documentation
  • Server setup
  • Inventory Management
  • Decommissioning of hardware following process

Qualifications

  • Experience in an enterprise environment preferred, but not necessary.
  • Some light travel occasionally between LF Data Center and Elk Grove Village Colocation once in awhile
  • On call will be part of the job after training, 1 week/month
  • Onsite coverage is from 7 to 7, shift will be in that time frame, other hour covered by on-call
  • Network+ and server+ preferred, but not required
