Engineer II - Java, Quick Commerce

We are on the look out for an Engineer II - Java  to join our Quick Commerce team and contribute to the creation of our next generation platform that works on expanding our amazing delivery to new products such as groceries, pharmaceuticals, flowers and more. • You will build our next generation platform to not only sell food to our hungry customers but also grocery items and many more. 

• You will design and optimize our internal back office applications in a fast growing environment such as a master product database, catalog management systems, campaign management, ad-serving/ad-booking systems.

• You don’t shy away from building reliable, scalable systems with high concurrency and are always eager to learn new languages and technologies. Your decisions will make an impact since your ideas and efforts do matter.

• Java/Kotlin & Distributed Systems Expertise – Strong experience with Java or Kotlin in distributed systems and services.
   

• Large-Scale Application Development – 4+ years working with large-scale applications, Spring Boot (or similar frameworks), and agile methodologies.
   

• Strong Computer Science & UNIX Skills – Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, software design, and ability to work in UNIX-like environments.
   

• CI/CD & Monitoring Tools – Familiar with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Drone, Spinnaker) and monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Datadog, ELK, distributed tracing).
   

• Cloud & API Expertise – Experience running workloads on Kubernetes, working with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and Kafka.
   

• Engineering Best Practices & Collaboration – High-quality coding, automated testing, ownership of deployments, pragmatic problem-solving, and strong English communication
  
  Nice to Have:

• CI/CD, Monitoring, and Microservices – Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Drone, Spinnaker), monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Datadog, ELK), and best practices for microservice communication.
   

• High-Traffic & Scalable Systems – Expertise in building, maintaining, and running high-traffic systems in a Kubernetes-based microservices environment, including gRPC and event-driven hexagonal architecture.
   

• Database Expertise – Deep knowledge of relational databases (ACID, isolation levels, indexing, storage engines) and familiarity with document-oriented databases (MongoDB, Couchbase, DynamoDB, Firestore)
