Electrical Engineer

Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.


Diamond Foundry is looking to bring on a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Advanced Factory Systems team.  This person will design our next generation equipment. Collaborating with engineers across various teams, you will design and spec multidisciplinary assemblies for the next equipment expansion of the company.


Responsibilities:
  • Design electrical control panels and document assemblies and systems including component selection, mechanical layout, cabling and packaging
  • Improve existing equipment designs by identifying areas for improvement and leading design changes
  • Troubleshooting industrial control/electrical systems including power supplies, controllers, sensors, PLC’s, and other devices
  • Working with manufacturing technicians to plan and execute upgrades and retrofits to improve tool reliability and process capabilities
  • Working on multidisciplinary teams to solve complicated problems


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in EE or similar engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of hands on engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience designing, testing, deploying, and troubleshooting control systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Software: 3D/2D CAD (Solidworks, Autocad, Draftsight), Schematic capture and PCB layout (OrCAD, Eagle, etc.)
  • Ability to read and edit control schematics and P&ID drawings
  • Experience with typical electrical lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power meters, frequency analyzer)
  • Understanding of industrial control equipment regulations (NFPA 79, UL 508, etc)
  • Experience working with a variety of electrical systems from three phase AC power to low voltage DC board level signals.


$100,000 - $130,000 a year

Manufacturing and Engineering Departments Physical Requirements:

-Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety policies, practices, and procedures.

-This position will often: Sit, stand for long periods, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, lift below and above shoulders, bend, twist at the waist,  climb, balance, stoop, squat,  kneel, crawl, talk, hear, see, use fine finger manipulation, and complete repetitive motions. 

-Some tasks may require the use of ladders or stairs

-Some tasks may require driving or the use of foot controls

-Lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pound
