Mechanical Equipment Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Mechanical Equipment Engineer to join our team supporting the Savannah River Site! This position is full-time and will be based out of Aiken, SC.

Responsibilities

  • Work with an engineering team to support the preparation/review of design changes for multiple waste treatment facilities.

  • Writing procurement specifications for mechanical equipment, including motors, pumps, vessels and some piping.

  • Perform detailed design and analysis of mechanical equipment as part of design team. Equipment includes:

    • containment systems,

    • material handling equipment, and

    • process piping & equipment.

  • Support waste treatment facilities.

Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of equipment design experience.

  • Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work

  • Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.

GEM’s offered compensation is dependent on candidates’ education, qualifications, and relevant years of experience.
