Senior Salesforce Developer

Your impact

Handshake is hiring a Senior Salesforce Developer to help scale and evolve the systems that power our go-to-market engine. You’ll partner closely with RevOps, Sales, Account Management, and Customer Success to build high-impact solutions in Salesforce—from quote-to-cash automation and CPQ configuration to custom integrations with BigQuery, Outreach, and beyond.

This role will play a critical role in streamlining workflows, improving data quality, and accelerating decision-making across the revenue org. Your work will directly enable our teams to move faster, sell smarter, and deliver an exceptional experience to our customers.

This person will be expected to work 3 days out of our San Francisco HQ (M/W/Th) and remote the remainder of the time to help facilitate collaboration and get face time with the team.

Your role

Salesforce Development & System Enhancements

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow automation, and Visualforce
  • Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and GTM tools like Salesforce CPQ, Spiff, Gainsight, Outreach, Looker, Census, and BigQuery
  • Improve quote-to-cash processes, supporting CPQ configuration and pricing models
  • Optimize Salesforce data architecture, ensuring clean, structured, and efficient storage
  • Build custom workflows, process automations, and UI enhancements to streamline sales operations

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

  • Partner with Sales Operations, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Work alongside RevOps analysts and system architects to define and prioritize Salesforce development projects
  • Provide technical guidance to junior admins and analysts, helping build a scalable and well-documented system
  • Act as a technical lead in evaluating, implementing, and integrating new sales tools

System Administration & Governance

  • Support Salesforce user and license management, role-based access controls, and permission sets
  • Monitor and improve data hygiene, implementing governance rules for data integrity and reporting accuracy
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics to track system performance and user adoption

Maintain documentation and training materials to support ongoing system education

Your experience

Technical Expertise

  • 3+ years of Salesforce development and administration experience
  • Strong Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow automation, and Visualforce skills
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ, quote-to-cash processes, and pricing models
  • Proficiency in integrating Salesforce with other business applications (e.g., Looker, BigQuery, Outreach, Census)
  • Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, and agile development best practices
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification (Platform Developer II a plus)

Sales Ops & GTM Understanding

  •  Experience working with Sales, RevOps, and Marketing teams to optimize workflows
  •  Strong understanding of sales processes, pipeline management, and forecasting
  •  Comfortable working with large data sets, SQL queries, and ETL processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Skilled in project management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
  •  Experience leading technical discovery conversations and recommending best practices

Bonus areas of expertise

  • Experience with third-party integration tools (e.g., Workato, MuleSoft, Zapier)
  • Familiarity with BI tools like Looker or Tableau
  • Experience mentoring junior Salesforce admins or developers
  • Prior work in a high-growth startup or SaaS environment
    Passion for improving user experience and designing intuitive workflows

Compensation range

  • $147,000-$184,000 (85/15 OTE split) + RSUs

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
