The Institute for Capacity Development (ICD) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has an opening for a contractual Technical Assistance Officer (TAO) to serve as part of the Strategy and Evaluation Division’s team (ICDSE) with a focus on results measurement. ICDSE is responsible for coordinating the overall governance and strategy of the Fund’s capacity development (CD) program, which now accounts for around third of what the Fund does. The overarching objectives of the policies developed by ICDSE are aimed at (i) enhancing the impact of the Fund’s CD and (ii) increasing the efficiency of CD processes and systems.
ICDSE helps achieve these objectives through acting as secretariat to the Committee on Capacity Building; leading the development and implementation of the Fund’s 5-year CD strategy; coordinating the Fund’s budgeting and planning cycle to facilitate improved prioritization; overseeing the framework for assessing CD performance through evaluation and results-based management; and development of discrete policy guidelines on issues like integration with surveillance/lending and the dissemination of CD output.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Division Chief/Deputy Division Chiefs, the successful candidate will focus on CD results measurement and be responsible for (i) supporting the implementation and governance of the IMF’s CD results-based management (RBM) system; (ii) establishing effective processes and procedures for CD results measurement; and (iii) enhancing reporting of information on outcomes to support strategic decision making on CD initiatives. Other opportunities may include research in support of the division's responsibilities and contributing to the broader CD governance work across the Division. Qualifications
Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of an advanced university degree, or equivalent, in business, finance, budgeting, accounting, statistics, computer science, or related field, or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar professional certification, supplemented by a minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience, is required.

This is a one-year contractual appointment. Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, pending incumbent's performance, budget availability and continuous business need.
