Group Account Director (Remote)
Invisible Hand is looking for a Group Account Director to join our rapidly growing agency. Our team’s mission is to use culture, the network effect, and live experiences to meet our client’s goals. Our client roster includes Spotify, PBS, Emerson Collective, Omidyar Network, Equality Federation, and many more.
This is a role within the agency that requires an exceedingly organized and strategic mind and excellent client management skills. You will play a significant role in defining the Invisible Hand way with projects and clients, and play a critical role in organic business development and agency growth.
You are a self-starter, motivated by learning, able to work quickly, and a creative problem solver with incredibly strong communication skills and a “passion for polish.” Candidates should be comfortable working in a startup environment. This is a high-touch client-facing role that requires maturity and discretion; candidates should enjoy cultivating client relationships and leading client calls.
Responsibilities include:
Lead the team in how we get the work done - do we need research? What’s the right timeline, what resources are we missing
Lead organic growth opportunities for existing clients, and lead pitch and scoping for business development. You will be responsible for growing existing client scopes (i.e. from project basis to retainer, selling in new products, etc.).
See around the corners of the work and manage up to agency leadership with potential roadblocks either in the work or with clients or partners
Build scopes and internal budgets for new projects and assemble the teams needed to get the work done through a combination of FTEs and freelancers so projects may kick off quickly
Be the leader of your team, setting goals, challenging colleagues and motivating others to deliver the highest quality service to our clients
Main quality check - as first point of review on all materials, you’re assessing whether they fit the IH standard, hold strategic water, and uphold the Invisible Hand standard
You can play both strategic lead and project manager, owning timelines, status trackers, day to day client management, as well as thinking holistically about the problems we’re solving in the work
Act as client advocate by anticipating their needs and reactions to ensure agency work product aligns to their expectations; developing a deep understanding of their work and making their objectives paramount in all we do
Serving as proxy for Managing Director and / or CEO in client meetings
Here's what we're looking for:
At least 7+ years of client-facing account management and/or strategy consulting experience in an agency or production house
You’re a career account person who is exceptionally gifted in strategic thinking
Demonstrated / proven ability to expand client scopes and grow revenue for agency
Some experience leading production is extremely useful but not required
Experience building trusted client relationships
Great presentation skills (both written and oral)
You can hold the pen on a great deck. The team will work on it together, but you know how to make it sing and clean up formatting, etc.
Capable and conversant in all aspects of a creative, strategy and asset production workflow
Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise briefs in partnership with stakeholders
Appetite for solving problems, developing effective solutions, and performing in high-velocity, deadline-driven environments
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to closely track project performance and oversee the successful completion of short and long term milestones
