Plant Engineer

Immediate need for a qualified Plant Engineer for a major poultry processing company at their harvest plant in Perry, GA..  This position provides the day-to-day technical leadership and direction to Operations. This role is also responsible for delivering maximum equipment/system uptime through the application of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).  Additionally, this person will:

·        Develop and deploy overall plant technical strategies and tactics focused on operations, safety, energy usage, engineering projects and maintenance improvement.

·        Promote and incorporate “safety” as a culture and a strategy in all aspects of operations areas and demand focused results from the entire technical organization.

·        Develop and lead plant specific engineering and maintenance strategies to achieve KPIs (key performance indicators.)  Ensures facility’s structures and infrastructures are maintained to meet or exceed the operational needs including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, boiler and refrigeration systems.

·        Work with the Senior Director of Engineering to create, understand and strictly adhere to all plant technical expense budgets.

·        Must work with local, state and federal agencies, corporate insurance, risk management and other agencies to ensure the facility meets and exceeds codes and/or policies.

Requirements

A BS Degree in an engineering/technical discipline plus a minimum of 2 years of experience is strongly preferred.  In lieu of a degree, 5 additional years of related work experience will be considered.   Additionally, the successful candidate will have:

·        Experience in plant engineering or project engineering/management in the food industry.

·        Automation experience and working knowledge of the plant Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo.)

·        A general knowledge of Auto Cad to include working with drawings, dimensioning, and updating when equipment is installed or moved.

·        Ability to travel to vendors, training seminars, other plants and to the corporate office for periodic technical strategy meetings and capital planning sessions.
