Part-time Technical Writer

OverviewTitle: Technical Writer - 25% FTELocation: Washington D.C., Maryland, or Virginia (Remote position)Travel: 0- 10%Security Requirement: Must have, or be able to obtain, tier 4 background investigation for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).Position Expectations Perform all required responsibilities and duties in accordance with LMI/MRSS policies and procedures. Actively engage in your role and be accountable for all outcomes. Deliver exceptional service to internal and external clients, stakeholders, and teammates. Contribute to LMI’s strategic initiatives.Responsibilities Responsible for creating, developing, and writing various types of user documentation and product instruction for both technical and healthcare audiences, (including user guides, references, manuals, etc. High collaboration with UI/UX teams to create product instruction of features, product education, into training materials, in-app content, user guides (via software, print and digital). Periodically audits and reviews documentation to determine whether format or content changes are required. Deliver exceptional client support. Collaborate with Human Factor Engineering Teams to test and revise product instruction as needed. Use standard writing styles, such as APA and Chicago Manual of Style. Create user instruction and education both written and digital including user guides, quick start guides, scripts for video tutorials and in-app instruction. Revise user manuals with new or updated features. Reviews technical content developed by engineers and modifies it to be understandable by less technical audience, for general readability like spelling and grammar. Plan and coordinate meetings on project timing, goals, and budget to ensure fulfillment of internal and customer expectations and compliance with policies and contractual requirements. Lead the coordination of daily activities for team members, adhere to project timelines and communicate updates to project leadership. Assist in the creation of presentations outlining the program's strategies, products, and results associated with internal goals. Communicate findings and recommendations on critical initiatives to clients and internal parties. Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate meetings. Experience working in research-based systems. (eRA , NIH, etc.)
