About Lynk
Lynk is the inventor of satellite direct to device or D2D technology, and has the world’s only commercial license from the FCC to operate a commercial D2D system. Today, Lynk allows mobile network operators' subscribers to send and receive text messages to and from space via standard unmodified, mobile devices. Lynk’s service has been tested and proven on all seven continents, has regulatory approvals in more than 30 countries, and is currently being deployed commercially based on more than 40 MNO commercial service contracts covering approximately 50 countries.
Our technology will enable all 8 billion people on the planet to stay connected with the existing standard phone in their pocket. Everywhere. No matter what.
By joining Lynk, you will have the opportunity to directly touch the lives of billions. Your mission will be to bring mobile broadband to billions, pull hundreds of millions out of poverty, and save countless lives.
Job Summary
Lynk is developing cellular-based space payloads and seeks an LTE and 5G RAN Engineer to design and develop Radio Access Network - RAN infrastructure for satellite direct to device services. This role involves developing DSP for LTE and 5G, optimizing the physical layer algorithms, and implementing custom resource scheduling algorithms. Core Responsibilities
As an LTE and 5G RAN Engineer your core responsibilities are as follows
Design and implement physical layer - PHY transceiver algorithms and medium access control - MAC layer procedures for satellite-direct-to-phone links based on LTE and 5G NR.
Develop baseband modems on software defined radio - SDR platforms.
Evaluate the performance of the cellular base station in simulation and on the target platform.
Develop test software and drivers to support unit, integration, and system testing of all base station software functions.
Perform link budget analysis of LTE and 5G system between satellite and UEs.
Work with other team members to benchmark payload software applications.
Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Engineering with 3 to 5 years of related experience is required.
In-depth knowledge of wireless communication systems such as, OFDM, MIMO, etc.
Experience in physical layer algorithm design, algorithm validation, feature bring-up, and commercialization.
Strong knowledge of the 3GPP standards, including LTE and 5G PHY, MAC, and RRC specifications.
Strong knowledge of software defined radios and their implementation.
Familiarity with existing telecommunications software stacks, such as LTE, 5G NR implementations.
Hands-on experience in lab testing and characterization.
Deep understanding of communication theory and signal processing related algorithms design, such as timing recovery, signal estimation and detection, RF impairment estimation and correction, channel modeling and estimation, Doppler compensation techniques, etc.
Experience with MATLAB, Python, C or C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
Experience using test equipment like signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.
