Job Description

Territory:  United States   (Ideal candidate would be located in the Midwest)

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for strategic accounts and account/business acquisition in a defined category across all channels.  They create and execute short and mid-term business strategies and performance according to the account plan (delivering the month, quarter, and year per plan).  Will work with all levels of the organization and be responsible for relationships with global key account leaders.

Manages the sales and service relationship with accounts based on product category (Food & Spirits) and revenue.

The Sales Account Manager will:

  • Create and execute the account plans, own and manage requests for pricing/contracts
  • Be responsible for contract execution, follow-up, and lead adjustments as needed.  Will begin the commercial proposal process and support negotiations
  • Identify projects to convert other packaging materials to glass
  • Update and report to the board of directors regarding the risk of competition pertinent to the business
  • Maintain average payment term and default percentage of the segment
  • Generates, develops, and closes sales opportunities
  • Responsible for prospecting, qualifying, and landing new customers / new business

 

The Sales Account Manager should have:

  • The ability to Achieve sales volumes (EBIT, Revenue, Physical Volume) committed in the company budget
  • Experience analyzing and validating sales forecasts
  • Experience defining and negotiating prices
  • The skills to generate plans to ensure broad penetration into mid-level accounts
  • The ability to develop presentations to resolve and/or address customer issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent discipline required
  • Minimum of 7+ years of sales/marketing experience
  • Experienced with Key Account Management Programs
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, have strong PC skills and ease of working with computer systems
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, but also work well with the team and other departments
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined
  • Extra points for experience with Food & Spirits

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Up to 50% travel within the US.

What O-I Offers:

Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $150,000 and includes a possible 20% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
