Product Designer

About Palmstreet:

Palmstreet is the #1 live shopping platform for rare plants, handmade crafts, & unique goods. Founded in 2020 by Instagram and Apple veterans, Palmstreet began as a plant identification app and quickly evolved into a trailblazer in live shopping, beginning with plant sellers. Fueled by a passionate, plant-loving community, we rapidly expanded into new categories to better serve our fast-growing audience.

Our vision is to become the “World’s Online Main Street,” bringing the charm of in-person shopping to engaging, social online experiences. Backed by top Silicon Valley VCs and powered by a nimble, empathetic team, we’ve grown our GMV by 500x in the last 18 months.

As we continue shaping the future of social commerce, we’re looking for talented individuals who are excited to grow with us and join our mission.

The Opportunity:

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Product Designer to elevate the social commerce experience for both buyers and sellers across our mobile and web platforms.

This is a fully remote or Hybrid position (if you are in the Bay Area), open to candidates based in the United States and Canada. You will report to the Design Lead and collaborate with talented colleagues from around the globe.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain direct communication with users to derive insights that inform design decisions, utilizing intuition to fill gaps and continuously produce comprehensive deliverables at every stage of the design process.

  • Work autonomously on projects across all stages—from user research and wireframing to interactive prototypes and visual designs.

  • Work closely with Product Management and Engineering teams to define and execute features, facilitating workshop and feedback sessions.

  • Actively contribute to the visual identity of Palmstreet, ensuring consistency and coherence across various touchpoints such as our website, social media templates, and packaging.

  • Enhance and contribute new patterns to Palmstreet’s Branch design system, maintaining scalable and consistent design across our product ecosystem.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of design experience at a product-focused tech company.

  • Extensive experience with web and native mobile products.

  • A strong portfolio showcasing excellence in product, user experience, and visual design.

  • Ability to rapidly ideate and execute design concepts with top-notch craft.

  • Strong communication and advocacy skills to articulate design decisions while balancing product and development constraints.

  • Collaborative and ego-free, open to feedback and able to provide it constructively.

  • Experience designing for marketplace platforms.

  • Additional skills in data visualization or copywriting.

  • Experience working with a global team.

Your Location:

Remote - Anywhere in Canada

Travel: Twice a year for team building events; 3-5 days for each event

Compensation:

  • Pay Range: $120,000 - $160,000 USD

  • Stock options negotiable

The pay range for this role is determined by job-related factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and current market data. This specific compensation estimate is based on the ranges for Tier 2 locations (e.g. Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin). Compensation ranges may be modified in the future to adjust for updated market data.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes:

  • Generous health insurance contribution (for you & dependents)

  • Dental & vision insurance

  • Life insurance

  • 12 paid holidays + Paid Time Off (PTO) + Paid Sick Days

  • 401(k) plan with company matching

  • Remote Work Expense reimbursement

Why join us?

  • Shape the future of live shopping: Be part of a dynamic team revolutionizing the online shopping experience, combining creativity and technology to create immersive, interactive platforms for sellers and buyers alike.

  • Collaborate with industry pioneers: Work alongside a nimble, innovative team, backed by some of the most prestigious VCs in Silicon Valley, with opportunities to influence the product direction.
