Growth Marketer

We are building the fastest, most powerful customer support platform for the next generation of B2B companies. Some of the world’s most forward-thinking companies, like Stytch, Sanity, and Fly.io, rely on Plain to consolidate all the channels where they speak with customers, collaborate with their teams, and speed up their workflow with our lightning-fast UI.

We’re looking for a data-driven Growth Marketer to join our team and help us build a growth engine to build brand awareness and generate MQLs. You’ll build our growth marketing strategy, with full ownership over ideation and execution.

What you'll do

  • Drive revenue growth. :)

  • Own and execute our paid ad strategy for social, search, and display ads. Success in this role is about generating yield: If we invest $1 in paid social, how quickly can we pay that back with the customers we acquire?

  • Experiment with new channels, such as newsletter and podcast sponsorships, influencer marketing programs, and so on.

  • Work on marketing attribution – you’ll help us ensure we know where every lead comes from, what they cost, what revenue they generated, and in what timeframe.

  • Work with our Founding Marketer Kate and our Content Marketer to execute on integrated campaigns targeted at our ICPs.

We think that to be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have experience with (or a strong desire to) building growth marketing engines from the ground up.

  • Know your way around all the ad platforms, are able to independently set up and track attribution of our campaigns.

  • Live in the data – you should fully understand the impact your campaigns have, with data driving your experimentation and decision making.

  • Have worked in growth marketing at an early stage B2B product before, and enjoy seeing the impact that your marketing efforts have on the bottom line of the business.

This is a great fit if you…

  • Have a mindset for rigorous experimentation – you measure everything you do and think about your impact in numbers.

  • Feel comfortable taking ownership in ambiguity. You don’t wait for work to be given to you, you identify what needs to be done and get it done.

  • Are hungry and scrappy - we don’t have everything figured out yet, and we don’t pretend to. We iterate fast and improve as we go. We want you to be excited to figure things out with us, knowing you’ll have an immediate impact on the company’s growth.

  • Love using a modern tooling stack, including Linear, Attio, Notion, Slack, etc. We're building an industry disrupting tool, so we like to use other tools that are doing the same.

This won't be the right role if you…

  • Are uncomfortable with ambiguity. We have some really exciting traction but are still at an early stage and are constantly learning and trying new things as our company grows.

  • Don’t enjoy working with product or engineering. Our marketing team is product driven from start-to-finish.

  • Don’t feel comfortable with experimentation or thinking outside the box.

  • Expect all the perks of a big company. We’re a seed stage startup and are competitive in what we offer at our stage, but it’s a different role and opportunity than working at an established tech company.

Note: We are an equal-opportunity employer. At this time, we can only support hiring within the US for this role.
