How you make a difference

The Utility Worker is an essential part of our kitchen team, ensuring everything stays clean, organized, and running smoothly. Working closely with the Food Service Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, washing pots, pans, and equipment, and assisting with food tray and cup cleaning. You’ll also handle trash removal, restocking deliveries, and even delivering food for offsite catering contracts. Your attention to detail and dedication to a spotless environment will help keep our kitchen operating at its best!

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleanliness and Maintenance of Kitchen Equipment: Ensure all pots, pans, food trays, cups, plates, and hot boxes are properly cleaned and maintained.

  • Waste Management: Take out trash and operate the compactor correctly to manage waste efficiently.

  • Stocking and Supply Rotation: Ensure storeroom and cooler are adequately stocked and items needed for the daily menu are available in the kitchen.

  • Sanitation of Storage Areas: Clean all storage areas, coolers, and freezers to maintain a safe and organized environment.

  • Cultural Sensitivity and Individual Care: Be sensitive to cultural diversity, treat individuals served with respect, and consider their cultural needs when providing care and treatment.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Preferred: Prior institutional or residential food service training.

License:

  • Required: Valid and clear state Driver License.
