What We Do

Outlier.org (from the co-founder of MasterClass) is reimagining higher education as a resource that is accessible, equitable, and affordable for everyone. We have developed the world's best online, for-credit university-level courses, taught by some of the most celebrated educators in the world. Our courses employ cinematic content powered by cutting-edge cognitive science to create an immersive, student-friendly learning experience that delivers game-changing student success levels. We are a quickly-growing team working on a dual mission: Increase access to quality college education and dramatically reduce student debt.

Who We Are

Outliers are kind, curious, competent, creative, and resourceful. We are a passionate multidisciplinary team working to increase access to quality education for everyone. We believe in using the scientific method and evidence-based conclusions. We respect intuition and art. We give credit where credit is due. We hold one another to high standards. We value constructive feedback. We love to try new things. We take our work seriously, not ourselves. We work hard and go above-and-beyond to ensure great student outcomes and we strongly believe in taking care of ourselves and making sure we stay healthy to continue to pursue our mission as best we can.

Are you an Outlier?

ABOUT THE ROLE

Over the last 18 months, Outlier has created a custom high school dual enrollment platform that enables high schools across the globe to offer our curricula as dual credit, with tools to monitor and oversee the programs locally. We’ve amassed >100 high school partners across innovative partners like Summit Public Schools and NYC Public Schools, and we’re just getting started!

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Account Executive to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic sales efforts and building partnerships with educational partners within the High School/Dual Enrollment space. You’ll work closely with a team that includes sales development representatives, marketers, and product managers to help grow and manage your own pipeline of partners. You will also work closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs, present our offerings, and close deals. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a mission-driven organization and make a significant impact in the edtech industry.

This is a remote full-time role that will report to the Director of Sales.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Identify and target outreach to potential educational institutions for partnership and sales opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in the education sector.
  • Take full accountability for managing all phases of the sales cycles from prospecting, discovery, and demo to close.
  • Build a pipeline through successful outbound calls, email communications, events, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Work closely with Sales Development Representative(s) to better and more efficiently drive qualified opportunities into your pipeline.
  • Present and demonstrate our products and services to key stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals, achieving and exceeding metrics/revenue targets.
  • Assist other sales staff with closing their leads as needed.
  • Weekly accountability for reporting activities, opportunity development and forecasting, data updates, and accuracy in the CRM system.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Are a driven, goal-oriented, and entrepreneurial sales professional.
  • Ability to manage the full cycle of lead prospecting and generation to the closing of the deal.
  • 3-5+ years of outstanding B2B sales performance, preferably with a focus on high school partnerships and/or K-12 curricula programs.
  • Strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales objectives such as KPIs and productivity requirements.
  • Strong relationship-management skills.
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Confidence to credibly engage with the executive level stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of high school/K-12 industry.
  • Will work remotely but must be able to travel on occasion
  • Even with SDR support, you’re eager to make cold calls and advance your own pipeline.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Hubspot, Airtable, and/or other CRM tools.
