Associate ETL Developer

SWBC is seeking a talented individual to design and develop ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) integration processes for the Data Management Team.  This will include data analysis, source to target data mapping, job scheduling, development, and testing of iWay Service Manager (iSM) process flows and Data Quality Center (DQC) plans. There will also be Structured Query Language (SQL) ETL programs.  This individual will interact with data owners, external vendors, and business users to resolve data questions and anomalies.

SWBC is heavily engaged in the development of new cloud applications.  The successful candidate will apply ETL (extract, transform, load) skills to ensure these applications integrate with each other seamlessly. In this role, developers will work closely with programming languages, ETL software, databases, and server infrastructure. Beyond that, they’ll be working on a wide variety of tasks ranging from technical hurdles, meetings, and coordinating with others outside the department regularly.

Essential duties include the following:

  • Communicates with customers to obtain data requirements and performs data analysis on data provided.
  • Designs and implements data integration modules for ETL functions.
  • Develops aggregation, monitoring, and alerts tools and modules.
  • Participates in the overall development process through architecture guidance, design, and code reviews.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains a report, monitor, and dashboard framework.
  • Investigates new technologies and advances, especially in the areas of ETL and Cloud.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year in ETL development using Information Builders or similar products such as Microsoft, IBM/Cognos, Business Objects, and/or Informatica, which includes database development using various versions of Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Extensive knowledge of different data languages, formats and syntax, including SQL, JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), Extensible Markup Language (XML), etc.
  • Working knowledge of relational database systems such as Microsoft SQL Server or IBM DB2. (Microsoft SQL Server preferred).
  • Proven work experience as an ETL developer.
  • Cloud-hosted server experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud data sources like S3, Aurora, Relational Database Service (RDS), DynamoDB and EC2 is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS ETL tools like Glue, Data Pipeline and Talend is a plus.
  • Understanding of data cleansing, data verification, and data configuration.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include MS Excel.
  • Experience in an agile environment.
  • Able to lift 10-20 lbs. of computer equipment.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time at the computer developing.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, and stand while performing hardware support. Able to travel locally and nationally.
