Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s IT Service Delivery and Relationship Management Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated  Shop Engagement Manager.

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and drive the development of technical skillsets for Gemba manufacturing team members, enabling them to build solutions and optimize their own processes. This includes ensuring the alignment of business processes across shops, managing resources effectively, leading strategic initiatives to enhance team expertise, driving the successful implementation of systems, data utilization, and continuous improvement, while also monitoring performance, managing risks, and fostering strong communication with stakeholders across the organization.

Reporting to the IT Service Delivery and Relationship Senior Manager the person in this role will support the IT Service Delivery and Relationship Management department's objective to equip manufacturing teams with the resources needed to confidently develop and deploy digital solutions on the shop floor.

What you’ll be doing

  • Spearhead strategic initiatives to enhance team expertise, drive the adoption of new systems and technologies, and improve data-driven decision utilization across the organization.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training strategy that aligns with organizational goals and business processes, ensuring teams are equipped with the skills needed for successful system adoption and process optimization.

  • Work closely with department leaders to identify training needs, align objectives with business processes, establish governance standards for the program, and ensure the initiative is supported across all teams, fostering cross-team collaboration and driving continuous improvement.

  • Allocate resources effectively, including time, personnel, and materials, to ensure training programs are delivered efficiently within budget.

  • Track the progress of training initiatives through KPIs and feedback, ensuring the program aligns with organizational goals, drives process efficiency, and delivers measurable improvements in team performance.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; Minimum 10+ years relevant experience.

  • Proficiency with Power Platform tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) and experience in integrating them into business processes.

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and their application in training development, with a focus on iterative improvement and team collaboration.

  • Proven experience in web development technologies, including C#, HTML, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., Angular), with a focus on building scalable and effective solutions.

  • Proven experience with databases (e.g., SQL) and APIs, including understanding authentication protocols like OAuth2 for secure data integration.

  • Strong knowledge of business change management principles and strategies to drive the adoption of new technologies and ensure successful organizational transformation.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across departments, align objectives, and drive consensus among diverse teams.

  • Proven ability to analyze manufacturing processes, map business process flows, gather requirements, and translate business needs into actionable, detailed technical specifications, optimizing workflows and driving continuous improvement.

  • Advance degree preferred.

  • Familiarity with SharePoint administration, including configuration, permissions, and content management.

  • Experience in system architecture design and the ability to guide teams in developing scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that align with business needs.

  • Expertise in integrating Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) with other business systems to streamline workflows and enhance data accessibility.

  • Extensive experience in the maintenance and optimization of SCADA systems, ensuring system reliability, troubleshooting issues, performing regular updates, and implementing preventive measures to minimize downtime and maintain efficient operations in manufacturing environments.
