The Opportunity: 

We are looking to hire an Associate Front End Engineer - AI Service Engineering to join the Cyber Analytics & AI Innovations team in Visa. You as a Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting cutting edge AI innovations in cybersecurity. You should be an engineer at heart, possessing software engineering skills, allowing to lead teams that build some of the most critical and marquee products in the entire company. You will build enterprise-level AI solutions with AI autonomous agents, deep neural networks, large language models, GPUs, and big data platforms.

The Work itself: 

• Design code and systems that influence Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
• Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for Visa’s technical offerings.
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
• Develop robust and scalable products intended for internal stakeholders.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates relevant technical working knowledge to understand requirements.
• Identifies and contributes to the development and solution strategies to team members that improve the design and functionality of interface features across one or more project features, under minimal guidance.
• Applies standard processes on the use of programming languages and frameworks (e.g., JavaScript / React.js, TypeScript, HTML) to write code that fulfills modification requests and technical requirements.
• Collaborates with others to support the piloting of new technology capabilities and features.
• Analyzes bugs for simple issues and applies debugging tools to verify assumptions.

**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Must have skills:

• Programming Languages: Knowledge and ability to develop:
  • Front-end code (JavaScript / React.js, TypeScript, HTML)
  • Working knowledge of how front-end code interacts with APIs and back-end services
• React.js Expertise: Strong focus on React component development, state management, and front-end architecture
• UI/UX Implementation: Ability to translate designs into responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces

Desired skills:

• User Interface Design: Knowledge of user interface design principles and best practices. Understanding of how to provide an optimal user experience through thoughtful UI implementation.
• Web Browser Optimization: Ability to optimize front-end applications for performance across different browsers and devices
• Version Control & Collaboration Tools: Experience with Git, Jenkins, and Jira for code management and team collaboration
• Front-End Build Tools: Familiarity with webpack, Babel, and other modern front-end build tools
• Cross-Browser Compatibility: Understanding of browser differences and techniques to ensure consistent user experience
