In Walmart Global Tech, our Enterprise Business Services (EBS) organization is invested in building a compact, robust organization that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience. Our mission within EBS is to enable Walmart's Global Enterprise to spend smartly, act digitally and build trust with associates and shareholders.

Job Summary:

As a Staff Software Engineer with Walmart Global Tech, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software and data systems, providing technical direction, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring projects meet business goals and industry standards.

What you'll do:

  • Modernize and support the Finance Data Factory, transforming disparate applications with disjointed designs and architectures into a cohesive, modern Platform.

  • Utilizing both Data Engineering and Software Engineering tech stacks to move from point solutions to scalable, comprehensive platforms.

  • Work with key engineering teams to define our architectural patterns, set data quality standards, drives automation, with a focus on customer delivery.


What you'll bring:

  • Solid experience in Google Cloud Platform, Airflow, PySpark data technology stacks.

  • Extensive experience in Java, Python, ML, microservices and Application Architecture

  • SQL and no-SQL Databases such as Big Query, Cosmos, Cassandra, and Postgres

  • Demonstrated experience with Semantic Data Modeling.

  • Experience with Kafka or other high volume, low latency messaging infrastructure

  • Deep experience with public cloud platforms and cloud native services

  • Ability to perform in a team environment and ready to take ownership.

  • True passion for technology, love to continuously learn and strive for excellence.

  • Great communication/collaboration skills

  • Experience with Mobile App Development and/or AI – LLM a plus

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
