Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a wide range of menu items, ensuring high-quality and consistent results
  • Follow established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute menus for various outlets
  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels and ensure proper storage and rotation of food items
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new menu items and culinary concepts
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and respectful work environment
  • Uphold the Fairmont brand standards of quality and excellence
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance culinary skills and knowledge
  • Assist in other areas of the kitchen or hotel operations as needed

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Minimum 3 years cooking experience in at least two different kitchen sections i.e. Gardé manger, banquets, a la carte, breakfast etc. preferred
  • Valid Food Handler Certificate require
  • Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
  • Previous experience, minimum of three years, in the culinary field required
  • Diploma/Certification in a culinary discipline an asset
  • Must hold valid authorization to work in the USA

Physical Requirements Include:

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
  • Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
