Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to be based in Titusville, FL.

This position is expected to start as soon as possible.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support spaceport development projects with a focus on infrastructure that enables future aerospace innovation and spaceflight operations.
  • Work under the supervision of project managers and senior technical staff to assist in the planning, design, and construction management of spaceport-related facilities and systems.
  • Apply academic knowledge to solve practical engineering problems while learning about the project lifecycle—from initial concept through construction and final delivery.
  • Gain familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks relevant to infrastructure and aerospace development projects.
  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
  • Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. Interns work with cutting-edge technology, learn industry best practices, and collaborate with experienced professionals in a globally recognized firm. The program fosters both technical and professional skill development while providing networking opportunities that can enhance future career prospects. Additionally, AECOM’s dedication to innovation and sustainability enables interns to contribute to meaningful projects that help shape communities and the built environment.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Aerospace Engineering or related field and must have completed at least two of years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in aerospace and space infrastructure development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly technical environment with cross-disciplinary teams (civil, structural, aerospace, and project management).
  • Prior academic or internship experience related to aerospace infrastructure, launch facilities, or spaceport development.

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
