Global Merchant Network Services (GMNS) has relationships with millions of merchant businesses, in more than 25 countries, and delivers over $1.5T in spend. The people, processes, and technology that support this vital function are evolving to improve the merchant experience and economics. The Global Strategy & Capabilities (GS&C) team’s mission is to deliver a best-in-class premium merchant experience that will get merchants to not only accept American Express, but openly welcome and recommend us to their customers. 

The Global Policy & Standards (GPS) team within GS&C develops American Express Partner and Merchant Policy, Standards, and Programs to remain competitive, support new products & capabilities, improve data quality, and promote compliance.

Reporting to Manager, Network Policy & Process, the Analyst, Network Publications - Technical Writer is an exciting opportunity for a talented writer to drive a vision that continues to evolve Network policy, standards, and process.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Author and edit content, adhering to American Express and Network Publications style guidelines and quality standards, to produce and deliver high-quality documents for external Partners.
  • Collaborate with Policy and Standards Managers, subject matter experts, and other key stakeholders to determine document development and maintenance needs, obtain drafting information, and validate content.
  • Accurately proofread and edit documents.
  • Perform gap analysis and complete impact assessments to ensure key details are identified, captured, and updated in all affected locations and documents.
  • Conduct the review and approval process, implementing feedback and edits, and revising drafts as necessary to secure final approvals prior to publication.
  • Publish or coordinate the publication of documents to the appropriate channel, including to Knowledge Base, and announce the availability of updated documents to applicable external Partners and key internal stakeholders.
  • Manage publications process and project assignments, from time of initial assignment to final publication or project completion, balance multiple projects with competing priorities, adhere to project timelines, and report on progress to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain high-accuracy and thoroughness while executing tasks through a document’s creation, maintenance, editing, and delivery.
  • Stay informed about content management best practices and industry trends, share insights and learnings with the team to enhance efficiencies and improve processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 + years of experience in content development or project management (financial services industry experience preferred).
  • Overall comfort in using/learning tools, such as Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe AEM Guides, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, Confluence, OneDrive, and JIRA to manage day-to-day project and publishing needs.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, collaboration, and relationship building skills. Ability to provide excellent service to external Partners and internal customers.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong desire for quality, attention to detail, high-accuracy, and ability to take ownership of assigned projects.
  • Analytical mindset and strong critical thinker, with the ability to assess information and identify patterns to make informed decisions.
  • Self-starter, ability to multi-task, trouble-shoot, and work independently.
  • Adaptability when working in a dynamic and cross-functional environment.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
