We’re looking for a confident Technical Business Analyst able to work in an agile (Scrum) team helping guide the use of technology and delivery approach. You will have strong technical skills (particularly on Integration focused projects) acting as the pivot or intermediary between end-users and IT (Information Technology) to ensure that business/user requirements are delivered in IT solutions.

What you’ll do:

Requirements Discovery

Understand the client's business, existing processes, problems, and needs you will be responsible for

  • Creating JIRA tickets
    • Acceptance criteria
    • Implementation details
    • Mappings of consumers and providers
  • Document information on Confluence
    • UML diagrams (sequence), Integration design patterns
    • Mapping tables
    • Endpoints and environments
    • Postman collections
    • Acceptance criteria
  • Facilitate workshops and discussion sessions/channels
    • 3 amigos session (Dev. tester and BA)
  • Data model implementation
    • HTTP Operations
    • Data types
  • Technical Ability:
    • Create Swagger Specifications (Contracts) - Swagger Editor or Notepad++ or VS code
    • Understanding of the integration patterns and flows:
      • SOAP vs REST APIs
      • API contract design and maintenance
      • Consumers and providers of the APIs
      • Error Handling patterns
      • Messaging Queuing Processes such as ActiveMQ, Kafka
  • Estimation and Team Management – You will provide estimates for Change Requests and larger pieces of work following a reliable and traceable estimation methodology.
  • Design the system from a functional perspective, produce drafts of the Design documents, lead/manage the review of those documents with the client, and achieve approval and signoff of the Design documents
  • Work closely with the Technical Lead and Architects, ensure they are kept updated, and especially made aware of scope changes, project issues, and risks
  • Provide team with business experience, advice on industry best practices, etc.
  • Provide input into User Guides as required
  • Ensure all reviews required are completed at the required checkpoints

Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst you’ll be responsible for the following day-to-day activities:

  • Produce drafts of the Requirements documents, lead/manage the review of those documents with the client, achieve approval and signoff of the Requirements documents
  • Lead the Analysis and Design stage, arrange and lead any communication, meetings, and workshops for this stage
  • Work closely with the Technical Lead, ensuring they have sufficient understanding of the functional requirements to design the System Architecture.
  • Work closely with the Test Analysts, ensure they are also kept updated, and especially made aware of scope changes, project issues, and risks
  • Resolve issues raised by developers and testers during the Development and Testing stages, in relation to specification questions and ambiguities, communicating with clients wherever necessary
