Job Description

As a Patent Information Professional, you will be an essential member of our Intellectual Property team, collaborating closely with patent attorneys and other internal stakeholders. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with patent attorneys and cross-functionally to understand and identify information needs.
  • Conducting thorough patent searches (novelty, validity, clearance) and reporting findings clearly to internal clients.
  • Identifying relevant literature to assess patentability and evaluate 'freedom-to-operate' scenarios.
  • Enhancing and maintaining the Envalior Patent Alert System.
  • Monitoring changes in patent granting procedures and providing necessary updates.
  • Delivering technical and statistical insights related to patent literature and market dynamics to support strategy.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for an outstanding candidate with an HBO (or equivalent) level of education in Chemistry or closely related fields. This individual should showcase a robust understanding of both the theoretical aspects and practical applications within the fascinating world of chemistry and its associated sectors and also using this expertise in patent information field.

Professional Experience

3+ years of relevant experience in patent information field, demonstrating a strong understanding and proficiency in the requisite skills and methodologies.

Leadership Experience

While prior leadership experience is certainly valued, it is not a prerequisite for this position. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and varying degrees of leadership exposure. We are looking for a candidate who possesses expertise related to patent information and is able to understand business dynamics and technologies. This role requires an appreciation of the nuances of intellectual property and its vital role in fostering innovation and driving product development.

Strong analytical and communication skills are paramount, as the ideal candidate will need to distill complex scientific, technical, and business concepts into digestible formats, ensuring that they yield impactful results that resonate with our organizational objectives.

In addition, the right candidate will showcase excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across various functions and levels, including R&D, business strategy, and commercial operations.

Proficiency in English is essential, as it will play a crucial role in facilitating both internal discussions and external representation within the industry.
