Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated scientist to support the development and execution of cell-based bioassays and binding assays for the characterization and routine testing of biopharmaceutical products. Daily responsibilities could include: 

  • Carrying out bioanalytical cell-based assay testing of recombinant protein therapeutics
  • Assisting in the identification and evaluation of new technologies
  • Making detailed observations, analyzing data, interpreting results, and exercising appropriate technical discretion in the design and execution of experiments
  • Performing cell culture, maintaining cell lines, and performing routine lab equipment maintenance
  • Presenting results at internal meetings

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Good time management, outstanding multi-tasking abilities, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive  attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
  • Good documentation skills

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's biology, chemistry, or other related concentration, with 2-3 years of experience OR 
  • Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, or other related concentration, with 1- 2 years of relevant experience working with cell-based assays in an industry environment
  • Prior experience with cell culture and in vitro assays, and their application in biological characterization for biologics
  • Precise and accurate micro-pipetting skills
  • Experience performing in vitro biological assays such as, cell-based, ELISAs, immunoassays, and/or homogeneous assays such as alphaLISA and/or HTRF
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

What to Expect in the Hiring Process: 

  • 10-15 Minute Phone Interview with Region Recruiter
  • 45-60 Minute Virtual Interview with Manager and/or Group Leader

Additional Details: 

The position is full-time and permanent, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates living near or in Gaithersburg, MD, are encouraged to apply.
