Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an FPGA Engineer - Boca Raton, FL.

This position assists university administrators and inter-institutional groups in resolving information systems problems and in disseminating information in regard to SUS/university rules, policies, and contracts.  Coordinates the development and conduct of special studies to support the integration of the multiple related functional-area information systems. 

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Support research on next-generation wireless networks, software-defined radios, and networking testbeds. 

  • Support the development of a first-of-this-kind self-sustained mesh network for connected robotics. 

  • Work with Xilinx Zynq-based software-defined radio platforms to test novel algorithms for adaptive wireless communications.  

  • Work with the CA-AI team, which is developing a first-of-this-kind self-sustained mesh network for connected robotics. 

  • Lead and support FPGA programming and signal processing projects.

  • Operate within a Linux environment and be proficient in higher-level programming languages (e.g., C, C++).

  • Interfacing with a multidisciplinary team, spanning different engineering domains such as RF, computer engineering, and networking systems.

  • Participate in external activities, i.e.  publication of research and attendance/participation in professional conferences, etc.

  • Collects and analyzes data as appropriate.

  • Delegate assignments to student researchers

  • Assist student researchers.

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer architecture or related field.

Salary:

$140,000 per year.
