The expected hiring range for this position is
$87,300.00-$133,900.00.Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

The Proton Source Department within the Beams Division of the Accelerator Directorate is seeking a highly qualified and motivated candidate for the position of Associate Scientist. The successful candidate will conduct research focused on particle accelerators, primarily the 8 GeV Booster synchrotron, and address challenges related to preparing the Booster for high-intensity operation in the PIP-II era.

The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the lab’s long-term accelerator complex improvement initiatives, such as the ACE-MIRT program.

This is a tenure track position for a period of up to three (3) years, with the potential for extension considered on a yearly basis thereafter.
