THE ROLE
Fidelity Fund & Investment Operations (FFIO) provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products. FFIO is actively seeking an experienced architect to help us deliver our next generation cloud-based platforms.
Are you someone with a strong technology leadership background with understanding of Crypto ecosystem? In this Solution Architect role, you will work on sophisticated and critical technology programs paramount to FFIO’s business operations related to various crypto based product launches and contributing to building strategic roadmap for the organization. This role will also enable you to engage in new and emerging technologies and play an active role in FFIO’s ongoing journey to crypto based products.
In close partnership with business and IT partners, you will provide technical leadership and vision of the blockchain based ecosystem, authoring multi-year architecture roadmaps, and actively promoting opportunities to optimize, consolidate, reuse, and simplify. You will author impactful architecture related to crypto and blockchain based solutions that achieve business goals, align with FFIO technology strategy, and promote standard methodologies in design and architecture.
THE EXPERTISE YOU HAVE AND THE SKILLS YOU BRING
- 13-15+ years of experience in software design, architecture, and development
- Proven architecture and personal leadership experience
- Hands-on experience with blockchain based development
- Full understanding of Crypto and Blockchain ecosystem like staking, transaction expenses, token-pair trading, types of tokens, various types of blockchains, wallets etc.
- Smart Contract development experience with Solidity, Vyper or Rust and IDE like Remix
- Understanding of testing frameworks like Ganache, Chai etc.
- Hands-on expertise with architecture design tools
- Proven knowledge with Java and the Open-Source stack
- Foundational knowledge of engineering and continuous delivery practices
- Proven skills and demonstrated focus in logical and component architecture design and deployment
- Demonstrated experience in cloud technologies and crafting solutions that use AWS services such as EKS, RDS, S3, Batch, NLB, ALB, CloudWatch, ElastiCache and Lambda
- Validated knowledge of Relational databases (Oracle, Sybase, MySQL), good experience in event based and message driven orchestration architectures and API development
- Significant background in solving complex technology challenges
- Financial services background, e.g.– trade settlement, fund accounting, security pricing etc. would be a plus
- A degree in Computer Science or related field, Master’s degree preferred
- Our technology stack is diverse but largely based on open source and groundbreaking components (Java, Spring, ActiveMQ, Kubernetes, Docker). However, we are not bound by a particular technology and believe in applying the right technology depending on the challenge. As such, we are always exploring new technologies and new ways to continually provide customer value.

THE TEAM
The FFIO technology group is a highly collaborative team. In addition to domain expertise and relevant experience, you will exemplify a spirit of leadership, partnership, teamwork, and seek to educate partners on the why behind standard methodologies and architecture decisions. You will seek to elevate and broaden the expertise of your fellow team members.
As a Director, Solution Architect, you will provide technical vision and leadership to develop solutions involving various products and home-grown solutions related to blockchain and crypto ecosystem. This solution should include the scope of integration with various existing FFIO applications and platforms. You will take part in a broader leadership team that defines and maintains our overall technical strategy for digital products and its coordinated view.
The base salary range for this position is $103,000-$218,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
