Granicus' Swagit Productions team is hiring a Closed Captioning Transcriber for our remote Costa Rica team. The primary purpose of this role is to convert spoken words to text and synchronize transcriptions to video content for our on-demand video services. 

Please Note - You must be fully bilingual (English & Spanish) to be considered for this role, and all resume submissions must be in English.

• Create accurate, synchronized closed captions for audio-visual content, ensuring proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. 
• Transcribe spoken words, sound effects, and any other audible audio to produce captions that are clear, concise, and easy to follow.  
• Ensure that captions meet Granicus standards and are delivering high-quality work to customers. This includes accessibility standards, readability, and formatting.  
• Work under tight deadlines to meet customer compliance laws while maintaining attention to detail, ensuring timely delivery of captions.  
• Collaborate cross-functionally to refine captions and ensure accuracy with complex or specialized terminology.  
• Utilize captioning software and tools to transcribe and synchronize captions effectively.  
• Address feedback and make necessary revisions based on customer or internal  

• Strong command of the English language with excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills. 
• Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-moving environment 
• Strong time management skills, the ability to effectively prioritize tasks in line with business requirements and deadlines while working remotely. 
• Excellent listening skills to transcribe audio accurately, including identifying various speakers, sound effects, and background noises.  
• A high level of accuracy and consistency in both transcription and caption synchronization.  
• Experience with Google Docs and Microsoft Office Suite.  
• Experience working in a remote environment and the ability to maintain effective communication with team members across various time zones.  
• Access to a quiet and professional environment for focused transcription work, free of background noise and distractions.  
• Comfortable using digital communication tools to collaborate with teams and customers. 
• Familiar with remote work tools such as cloud storage and virtual meeting software.
