THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) role at Hint focuses on retail sales accounts in and around Chicago, IL, overseeing and supporting all aspects of the sales cycle, to ensure successful sales, volume growth, distribution, brand presence, and positioning for Hint.  You will help drive Hint performance and achieve plan objectives by building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers and retail partners.

The area of coverage will include Chicago, IL, but travel to surrounding areas may be required to support the greater team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a sales expert for the region and be a key contributor to the Hint water retail sales team.
  • Maintain and grow important existing accounts by developing relationships with key stakeholders including grocery stores, mass merchandisers, and distributors 
  • Sell in additional SKUs, additional facings, new placements, and off-shelf merchandising to achieve Hint revenue and profitability targets. 
  • Use CRM tool (Repsly) to track daily achievements
  • Actively participate in weekly sales calls to highlight successes, discuss challenges and understand company-wide strategies
  • Identify and acquire new accounts
  • Provide recommendations for additional distribution/ regional chain requirements
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for new business and stay up-to-date on industry trends
  • Attend trade shows and other events to promote the Hint brand and network with potential customers
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as Marketing and Operations, to ensure the timely delivery of products and excellent customer service
  • Analyze sales data and generate reports to inform decision-making
  • Execute available monthly promotions at the store level to maximize brand potential and eliminate out-of-stock situations
  • Identify locations that can benefit from in-store samplings/brand education and facilitate with store manager/grocery manager
  • Execute P.O.S., coolers, and secondary off-shelf merchandising opportunities using tools provided by your Manager.
  • Merchandise in-store with POS materials
  • Plan and prioritize weekly strategies to optimize field time, hitting roughly 8-10 accounts daily, closing voids, increasing shelf presence, off-shelf merchandising, and taking reorders from store managers
  • Lead in-store execution and brand growth in your respective area, including but not limited to selling in displays, building displays, securing cold facings, void management, selling in cold equipment, and supporting retail store managers with in-store inventory and overall execution; required time in trade with in-store execution will vary by territory.

Travel Required

  • Daily travel, approximately 90% of your time will be spent in the field selling to accounts

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.  Relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the CPG industry in the Retail space
  • Ability to set, pursue and attain achievable goals, regardless of obstacles or circumstances
  • Demonstrates high level of customer service
  • Must adapt well to change and have the ability to handle stress
  • Must maintain a professional image at work and in the trade
  • Must be able to plan, pre-sell, and execute store-level promotions
  • Ability to demonstrate proven sales skills

  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds
  • Base salary range $65,000-75,000. Actual salary offer may vary based on location and work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
