Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Human Resource Intern to join our team. As a Human Resource Intern you will work directly with the People Team (HR Team) learning and supporting a wide range of exciting projects related to Onboarding/Offboarding, System Maintenance, Benefits, and more! This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. You will learn how to take skills acquired in school and apply them in a professional setting. Our internship will offer you the autonomy to explore and experience life in a HR environment! 

Overview of duties

  • Support the HR team in various areas including Total Rewards, Compliance, Training, HR Information Systems and more!
  • Assist in coordinating onboarding and orientation activities for new hires.
  • Maintaining HR records and databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives, such as employee programs, audits, etc.
  • Conduct research on HR best practices and industry trends.
  • Provide excellent customer service to those contacting the HR department via phone and email by responding to inquiries/request in a timely manner.
  • Opportunity to cross train with our Business Service Coordinator team
  • Supports the HR team with additional requests or HR projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Recent college graduate or current student studying Human Resources or a related field
  • Fundamental knowledge of HR Practices and strong willingness to learn
  • Creativity and a passion for learning and being able to adapt to daily challenges and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable around Technology Platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and via email and possess a professional demeanor

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary for this position is $18.00 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
