In this role, you will take ownership of establishing and leading the security strategy for a growing dental tech platform. As the first dedicated security leader, you'll have the opportunity to create and formalize security practices, implement the right tooling, and establish compliance protocols, including HIPAA. You will also play a pivotal role in ensuring the security of cloud infrastructure, leading incident responses, and driving security across a fast-paced development lifecycle. Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of the company's security strategy, focusing on vulnerability management, compliance (especially HIPAA), and cloud security.
  • Establish and manage the security compliance program, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and other relevant standards through the creation of policies, assessments, and audits.
  • Assess, select, and implement the security infrastructure and tooling required for the cloud environment, ensuring a robust security posture.
  • Spearhead the development and management of the security incident response process, ensuring readiness and efficient management of incidents.
  • Serve as the primary security authority, collaborating with engineering teams and executive leadership to integrate security best practices into development workflows and company operations.

  • 8+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience with a proven track record of leading impactful security initiatives or maturing security programs.
  • Deep expertise across security domains, particularly in vulnerability management, cloud security, and compliance (HIPAA expertise is highly valued).
  • Experience implementing security controls, managing compliance, and overseeing security incident response in complex environments.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities to advocate for security across the company, and a self-starter mentality.
