The OB Technician provides patient care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. OB Technicians are trained in all areas of Maternal/Child/Obstetric and Newborn care. They assist the medical and nursing staff in areas that are unique to this service line. The OB Technician performs nursing care skills that have been delegated by the licensed nurse. The OB Technician reports to the clinical manager.
Minimum EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.Passes pre-hire employment tests
Minimum Work ExperienceObstetrical experience preferred.One year experience as a nursing assistant or OB tech in a hospital setting required
Required SkillsCertification in CPROR skillsCustomer service skillsAble to multitask, prioritize and function in a high stress environmentBasic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills
