So, what’s the role?

Kin is currently seeking an HR Operations Manager to play a key role on a growing HR Team in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards & HR Operations, you will manage Kin’s HR Operations function, as it pertains to implementing & maintaining our HCM system (Workday), ensuring data integrity & system optimization, building reporting capabilities, and training internal stakeholders on how to utilize the system. Partnering with the HR team, you will provide technical support for our overall HR technology stack.

A day in the life could include: 

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Workday, spearheading the full-cycle implementation of Workday Launch Express, and aligning it with strategic HR goals and business requirements. May at times also lead certain initiatives and projects during the implementation timeline.

  • Responsible for overall administration and management of Workday post-implementation, working alongside internal stakeholders such as IT, InfoSec, Finance, and Legal, as well as external vendors; with respect to system configuration, troubleshooting, data security, compliance, reporting & dashboard building, etc.

  • Ensure Workday landing page is kept up to date and configured to deliver appropriate content based on employees’ roles. 

  • Build and update functionality within Workday to meet changing business needs and discern if the use of third party vendors are needed.

  • Review functionality of various other HR point solutions and integrations to ensure capabilities meet the needs of the business and overall HR processes.

  • Support internal communication efforts for initial go-live of Workday and general employee use of the system. Put together training content and present materials to various groups as needed. Conduct live walkthroughs of the system for certain projects as needed (open enrollment, performance and compensation cycles, etc.).

  • Engage with the Workday community for in-depth awareness of new products and system functionality. Share product developments and updates with the HR team. 

  • Support audit activities by keeping accurate records.

  • Responsible for ensuring client satisfaction throughout position responsibilities. Build and maintain partnerships with internal business stakeholders.

  • Assist with fulfilling 401(k) data requests and providing payroll records as requested for annual plan audit. Assist with providing reporting for general HR data.

  • Ensure seamless connectivity across the HR tech stack and partner to resolve any issues that arise. 

  • Provide support and serve as a back-up to the Payroll team as needed.

  • Support organization, maintenance, and access for main HR Google drive. 

  • Provide ad-hoc reporting, project support, or data analysis as assigned.

I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?

  • 6+ years of experience in HR Operations, HRIS, or People Operations roles. Experience with Workday is a must.

  • Experience implementing Workday from beginning to go-live. Workday Launch Express experience is preferred.

  • Experience configuring Workday modules such as Core HCM, Peakon, Benefits, Payroll, Learning, Advanced Compensation, Talent Optimization, People Analytics, Time Tracking, Absence Management, etc.

  • Experience managing the day-to-day operations of Workday, including building workflows, configurations, reports, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and outcomes in cross-functional teams. Prefer working in fast-paced environments, with multiple concurrent projects. 

  • Successfully led complex projects with various stakeholders - delivering results on time and within budget. 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Excel (Vlookups, IF formulas, etc.).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated track record of being detail-oriented and organized.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated partnership across various internal teams - including HR, legal, accounting, IT, etc.

  • Strong customer service orientation with prompt follow-up and high degree of confidentiality.  

  • People-management experience and experience within other HR areas, such as compensation or benefits, is a plus.
