Today, Clow Valve Company operates at two locations: Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Riverside, Calif. The Oskaloosa plants include iron and brass foundries, a machine shop, assembly, finished goods warehousing, shipping and administrative offices. The Riverside location includes a sales office and distribution center. We are proud to continue our history of offering manufactured products that comply with “Made in the USA” requirements.

Job Description

Purpose:

The Maintenance Parts Coordinator thoroughly analyzes critical maintenance needs by providing accurate inventory and effectively communicating across the organization to maximize sustainability and manufacturing excellence.  

Key Performance Indicators:

Sustainability:

  1. 100% accuracy of maintenance parts inventory in AX & IMaint 100% of the time.
  2. Develop spare parts list for critical machines in 6 months of machine implementation.
  3. Maintain accurate inventory locations for all spare parts in AX & IMaint 75% of time.

Employee Engagement:

     a. Complete Cycle Counts (Annual & Quarterly) with 99% accuracy.

Core Functions of Position:

  1. Inventory (45%): Plans, orders, monitors and maintains inventory counts in maintenance stock room, keeping special track of critical parts and maintaining minimum quantities to drive maintenance efficiency, keeping identified critical spare parts on hand.  Expedites and identifies lead times for parts associated with emergent breakdowns. Maintains accurate inventory quantities and locations in AX and IMaint systems. Assists Maintenance Department in locating inventoried parts and directing them on proper stock room usage. Helps coordinate and drive daily activities within the maintenance department by maintaining the systems including AX and IMaint.
  2. Order Processing (40%): Orders maintenance inventory, janitorial inventory, along with any miscellaneous needs supervisors and plant staff may have for their departments. Processes order acknowledgments to ensure accuracy of orders. Has regular communications with vendors on orders and updates or changes to ensure timely receipt of the goods and parts needed for Clow operations. Receives product and processes maintenance PO’s to ensure proper parts and inventories are received.  Helps purchasing/accounting track and locate inventory billed for but not received in system.  Helps receiving with missing purchase orders. Maintains monthly/annual safety inspections.
  3. Cross-Company Communication (10%) Runs reports to understand parts usage on machines and prepare for future orders that will be needed.  Assists Maintenance General Foreman in receiving messages and delivering them to others throughout the plant. Is the central source of communication for the maintenance department acting as the liaison for communications that need to happen on behalf of the maintenance department and within the company. Ships items out for repair and core credit.
  4. Administration (5%): Serves as a backup for the plant secretary in her absence.  Assists in planning and scheduling of activities and celebrations within the Metal Casting Facility including retirement parties and holiday meals. 

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

Inventory MRP Software Experience, Strong Communication Skills, Clow Process Knowledge

Education & Experience:

Required:

  • High School or GED and one year of prior scheduling and/or inventory control experience.

Preferred:

  • High School or GED and 2 to 5 years of prior scheduling and/or inventory control experience
