Your Role


As a Failure Analysis Engineer, you will play a crucial role within the Quality Team, working to analyze failures and perform in-depth root cause analysis (RCA) at the electronics, mechanical, and electro-mechanical levels. Your expertise will be key in ensuring the reliability and continuous improvement of our battery management systems. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team and report findings to the Customer Quality Engineer and the Quality team, ensuring customer feedback is incorporated effectively. Your work will be guided by the 8D problem-solving methodology, supporting corrective and preventive measures to enhance product quality.


Your Responsibilities
  • Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations on electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical issues.
  • Perform electronics forensics, analyzing field returns and production defects to determine failure mechanisms.
  • Work within the 8D team, contributing to the structured problem-solving process and ensuring robust RCA documentation.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, production, and supplier quality engineers to identify and address potential failure causes.
  • Provide detailed failure reports and communicate findings to internal teams.
  • Support and improve test setups and analysis methodologies for failure investigation.


Your Profile
  • University degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in electronics failure analysis and understanding of schematics.
  • Solid knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 8D, Ishikawa, Fault Tree Analysis).
  • Good understanding of quality practices and guidelines in the automotive industry (e.g., IATF 16949, VDA standards).
  • Hands-on experience with electronic components, PCB analysis, and testing methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a structured, analytical manner.
  • High proficiency in English (German is a plus).
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
