Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

The Manager, Audio/Video Entertainment Technical is responsible for defining, developing, managing, and maintaining all audio/video systems of assigned Entertainment projects of various scale, including marquee events (Halloween Horror Nights, Grinchmas, Grad Bash, eve, etc.), daily park entertainment, placemaking efforts, and other special projects.  Interfaces and partners with the Creative, Events, Project, and technical management teams on driving the production process forward, achieving all scope, financial, and process-based goals.

  • Manage all Audio/Video designs and installations across all Entertainment projects and initiatives.
  • Lead Audio/Video system design process, supporting the development of 30/60/90% packages and navigating integration of elements with Technical Management team and other design areas.
  • Manage the day-to-day duties, priorities, and workflows of Entertainment Creative Development Audio/Video group.
  • Manage the development, organization, and distribution of workflows between Entertainment Technical group and Technical Services department on project focuses, ensuring streamlined communication and successful partnership with management teams.
  • Manage inter and intra-departmental communication and interaction, to include initiating processes which facilitate improvements and efficiencies.
  • Provide onsite management of Audio/Video staff, both inter and intra-departmentally.  This includes Entertainment Technical, Audio Mixers, A/V Production Coordinators, Vendors, and Consultants.
  • Drive Research and Development of A/V equipment, staying pace (and ahead) of technology.
  • Manage use of A/V facilities and inventory at both the Entertainment Production Center and USH.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite. This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theatrical Production or minimum 5 years in a related field, with emphasis in audio/video system design and/or implementation.
  • Extensive theme park experience in technical audio/video production for live theatrical entertainment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organization skills, including in a personnel management capacity.
  • Expert classification in advanced audio systems such as Q-SYS, SMAART and Dante networking.
  • Superior knowledge in AV equipment such as Yamaha consoles, amplifier distribution and high-level speaker array systems.
  • Expert ability to troubleshoot AV system issues in high stress environments.
  • Proactive management skills to guide, delegate and provide on-site knowledge and support to specialized technicians.
  • Ability to navigate and function productively interdepartmentally on high level projects.
  • Solid understanding of production of live entertainment in a theme park environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, with confidence to multi-task and delegate as required.
  • Ability to achieve results through the flawless execution of strategies and process.
  • Ability to identify and communicate creative solutions to challenges, and to maintain a consistent focus on priorities with persistent follow-through.
  • Confidence to effectively communicate across all lines of business, and with all levels of management.
  • Ability to deal well with ambiguity and constant change, working in fast-paced environments with accelerated production schedules.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights as required.
  • A strong passion to drive high quality results, both end product as well as process.
  • Proficient in AutoCad

Have strong interpersonal, analytical and time management skills and demonstrates the ability to work independently under pressure; proactive thinker/self-starter.

Communicating and influencing: Managers are required to communicate effectively with people at all levels in the organization, including providing specific, timely feedback to managers and others to work together more effectively.

Quality and partner focus: Continuously look for ways to refine and improve work processes to achieve better results. Follow through on commitments made to internal and external partners.

Seek expertise, advice, and perspectives from a variety of sources both within and outside the organization to ensure a high work standard and an engaging culture for employees. Project Management:  Develop plans for accomplishing objectives, monitoring status, and providing regular status updates.  Provide relevant information to others in a timely manner and follow through with commitments made to others.  Recognize the broader implications of a project; doing all that should be done, not just as directed.

Learning and adapting:  Remain productive during periods of ambiguity, uncertainty and change. Demonstrate a willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.  Proactively utilize slower periods to improve work and or work environment, equipment maintenance, archiving, general organization, etc.

Leadership:  Set a positive, productive and communicative tone as a leader in the department.  Partner with the leadership team when representing policies and procedures, remaining positive with employees, and voicing concerns directly to senior leadership.  Consistently exhibit an “open door” demeanor which fosters approachability, professionalism and openness.  Be available to all employees equally, treating all employees fairly.  Promote healthy, collaborative and positive tone/vibe in venues, areas and/or elements.
