Job Description

 The Client Services Clinician reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

 Responsibilities:

  • Takes patient vitals.
  • Greets incoming patients.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Program and other hospital departments/physician offices.
  • Escorts the patient throughout the day to meet their needs.
  • Trouble shoots and problem solves care delivery issues. Notifies clinic leadership and/or appropriate department/physician office of deviations in the patient’s schedule.
  • Meets needs of patients who come through the Program.
  • Assures that patient arrive promptly at scheduled appointments. Makes adjustments to the patients schedule to eliminate or minimize delays.
  • Provides each department and/or physicians and administrators with the necessary requisitions needed and collects appropriate medical reports and billing statements. Collects and tracks medical information for internist prior to scheduled exit conference.
  • Pre-orders meals/snacks for patients as requested. Sets up rooms prior to the arrival of patients and cleans up after last patients exit.
  • Assembles patient exit packet for internist prior to scheduled exit conference or debrief.
  • Educates patients with protocol and testing details/information
  • Collaborates with other clinical staff as appropriate
  • May administer shots/injections.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have either:
    • LPN licensure in Illinois OR
    • EMT licensure in Illinois OR
    • Current certification as a:
      • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) OR
      • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT) OR
      • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) OR
      • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health career Association (NHA) OR
      • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) through the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • American Heart Association accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
  • Zero (0) to two (2) years’ experience in customer service or related field.
  • Proficiency in the use of office equipment.
  • Strong computer skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
  • Experience with electronic medical record.
