We have offices in San Francisco and San Diego for those who prefer hybrid or office settings. Oura employees in other major cities (like Boston and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.

We are looking for a Director of Procurement to play a critical role in shaping and executing the company's strategy to optimize procurement processes, drive cost efficiencies, and ensure the highest standards of quality and service across indirect procurement. This strategic leader will oversee the development and implementation of procurement initiatives that support the company's growth and strategic objectives while enhancing and contributing to overall business performance. The Director will work closely with senior leadership across all functions to ensure that procurement strategies and outcomes align with organizational goals, driving both short-term and long-term success.

The Director of Procurement will be responsible for leveraging innovative approaches, including emerging technologies, to continuously improve procurement operations, identifying key areas of opportunity to enhance supplier relationships, reduce costs, and mitigate risks. This role will also oversee the procurement analytics in conjunction with Operations, IT and Strategy, ensuring that data-driven insights guide strategic decision-making and strengthen the competitive position of company's. By fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence, the Director will ensure that procurement practices contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.

What you will do: 

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the broader organizational goals and drives cost efficiencies
  • Serve as the principal thought leader for procurement, developing and managing innovative approaches to sourcing and supplier management
  • Foster a data-driven culture within the procurement function, ensuring that actionable insights are used to improve supplier performance, reduce costs, and mitigate risks
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders across Finance, Operations, Strategy, IT, and Supply Chain and other functions to design and implement integrated procurement strategies that support company's strategic objectives
  • Lead efforts to enhance supplier relationships, utilizing data and analytics to measure and address supplier performance and compliance
  • Analyze and optimize procurement procedures to ensure seamless, efficient, and cost-effective processes for indirect purchases
  • Develop and maintain a robust procurement analytics framework, ensuring that data collection, analysis, and reporting processes are efficient and effective
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and improve the procurement function.

This is a remote US role, although this leader will be expected to occasionally travel to Oura offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Helsinki. 

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

  • 12+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or strategic sourcing, with a proven track record of success in driving cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement efficiency at a senior leadership level
  • Proven experience in negotiating and drafting multi-million-dollar multi-year contracts with international counterparties
  • Strong expertise in procurement analytics, with the ability to leverage data to optimize procurement performance and improve business outcomes
  • A passion for operational excellence, cost efficiency, and delivering value through strategic procurement practices
  • Able to establish trust and maintain effective relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externally
  • Possess a results-driven entrepreneurial mindset, demonstrating initiative and creativity
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within teams, demonstrating a positive and solution-oriented approach to challenges

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Region 1 $165,000 - $206,000
  • Region 2 $156,000 - $195,000
  • Region 3 $143,000 - $179,000
