As the Director of the Services team, you will have significant responsibility, leading a team whose code moves and accurately accounts for billions of dollars, and helping to shape the future of our software platform

Job Description

  • Demonstrating technical leadership and guiding a team of engineers to produce high-performance, reliable, and secure services
  • Supporting and improving a portfolio of existing production services implemented in Go
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with other teams, ensuring that technical plans align with business objectives and meet our compliance obligations
  • Developing a deep understanding of PayNearMe’s business domain and processes
  • Identifying, evaluating, and proposing strategies to manage risk and tradeoffs in the development process
  • Enabling engineers to do their best work by coaching, mentoring, and creating a healthy team culture
  • Working with each team member to identify areas for growth and develop their careers according to their goals
  • Defining engineering requirements in partnership with product management, organizing and scoping work effectively

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering and 3+ years in management
  • Working knowledge of service design principles, patterns, and operational technology (such as Kubernetes)
  • Exceptional ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, both technical and nontechnical
  • Demonstrated track record of making practical decisions with good judgment when faced with design constraints or tradeoffs
  • Respect and support for team members of all levels and backgrounds, with openness to both teaching and learning
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering and 3+ years in management
  • Working knowledge of service design principles, patterns, and operational technology (such as Kubernetes)

  • Base salary per year (paid semi-monthly)

Salary Range: $210,000 - $235,000
