Candidates who reside or will reside in the following locations are eligible for this role: California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, and Washington State.


Job Summary

PeopleFun is seeking a Senior 2D Game Artist to support the development of our newest IP, Wordscapes Solitaire.  This hands-on role requires a strong UI background, involving the creation of iconography, graphic design and illustrations while ensuring an exceptional game experience for our players.  The ideal candidate will be a versatile artist with a broad range of creative skills and the adaptability to handle various design challenges.


Responsibilities
  • Produce and refine UI/UX, illustrations, marketing material and other visual assets.
  • Collaborate closely with the Art director and designers to ensure UI adheres to design principles for layout and spacing while enhancing players understanding of actions and goals.
  • Create assets, scenes, and prefabs in unity that perform within the technical specifications
  • Translate abstract ideas into clear designs by rapidly iterating on concepts through sketches, mockups, or wireframes
  • Contribute ideas for new themes and events to engage and excite our audience
  • Ensure consistent style and quality of new and existing features.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for smooth asset integration inside Unity.
  • Refine and adjust assets as needed to improve visual consistency and appeal.
  • Manage tasks effectively and collaborate with producers to ensure work is accurately estimated and delivered on schedule.


Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in 2D art creation for feature game development, with a track record of delivering successful mobile games
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your expertise and understanding of art fundamentals, with a focus on effective UI and design for clarity and usability.
  • Experience across all production stages, from concept development to final implementation.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and familiarity with modern design tools like Figma and other standard UI layout tools.
  • General understanding of usability design principles, UX wireframes, and user flows tailored to a casual gaming audience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and openness to giving and receiving feedback.
  • Familiar working inside Unity with the capacity to set up scenes, implement UI and prefabs
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, working closely with other artists, programmers, production, and other team members in a close knit game development environment
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to maintain visual consistency.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.


Preferred Qualifications
  • VFX and animation in Unity is a plus
  • Experience with character development
  • Familiarity with Spine


PeopleFun provides a competitive total compensation package with a pay-for-performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this [CA-based or North America-based] position is $90,000–$130,000. Compensation is based on factors including market location and individual qualifications. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on bonuses, and other compensation may be included as part of the total package.
