About the role

The Persona Security Team is looking for a software engineer to join us. You’ll own security sensitive libraries and components of our production platform. You'll play a pivotal role in fortifying our defenses against evolving threats. Your mission: design, build and maintain security libraries and systems to protect our customers’ accounts and data in our platform. You'll have the opportunity to employ cutting-edge technologies, innovative strategies, and your expertise to thwart potential attacks before they disrupt our operations. This position is based at our headquarters in San Francisco. We offer relocation assistance for those based outside of San Francisco Bay Area.


What you'll do at Persona
  • Own the systems used to encrypt our customers’ data.
  • Refine the authentication and authorization components in our product, used by our customers to access their accounts every day.
  • Design, build, and maintain flexible and reusable security libraries for other engineering teams at Persona to use.
  • Propose, build, and ship new security features in our product.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for the Security Team.

  • Experience - 3+ years of security software engineering experience at a fast-moving technology company, including experience with building performant, highly interactive web applications.

$130,000 - $220,000 a year
Offer and benefits
For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $130,000 - $220,000. Base salaries are just one component of the total compensation package and are determined by a number of factors such as years of experience, expertise, qualifications and more. Salary ranges reflect regional market standards for our SF and NY office locations. In addition to base salary, we offer competitive equity packages that play a big part in recognizing you for the huge impact you will have on helping us achieve our mission.
