We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MRI Technician to join our imaging team. The MRI Technician is responsible for operating MRI equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning during the imaging process. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.
This will be a Saturday only, part-time position.
WHAT YOU WILL BE GETTING INVOLVED IN:
Patient Care and Preparation
Explain MRI procedures to patients to ensure understanding and reduce anxiety
Position patients correctly to obtain accurate diagnostic images while ensuring their safety and comfort
Review patient medical histories and verify contraindications such as metal implants or allergies
Monitor patients during scans to ensure safety and address any concerns
Imaging Procedures
Operate MRI equipment to capture high-quality images of the designated body areas as ordered by physicians
Ensure the imaging process adheres to established safety standards and protocols
Adjust machine settings (e.g., resolution) to optimize image quality based on the area being scanned
Collaborate with radiologists to ensure that images meet diagnostic requirements
Equipment Management
Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of MRI equipment
Ensure all imaging equipment is functioning correctly and promptly report any malfunctions or service needs
Maintain a clean and safe imaging environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Documentation and Records
Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging reports and any observations made during the scan
Input and retrieve patient information using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Ensure proper labelling and secure storage of imaging files
Compliance and Safety
Adhere to all safety protocols to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure
Stay up-to-date on industry regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and ACR standards
Respond appropriately to emergency situations, such as adverse reactions or equipment malfunctions
WHAT YOU MIGHT BRING TO THE TABLE:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field
Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
State licensure as required by law
1–3 years of experience as an MRI Technician preferred
Familiarity with MRI equipment and imaging software
Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and understanding diagnostic imaging techniques
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify imaging inconsistencies or artifacts
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy
HOW WE WILL INTERVIEW YOU:
We keep our interview process short and sweet, and we’re a nimble team that can progress at pace. Here are the stages you can expect, but we might switch up the order of each step depending on team availability:
Introductory call/interview with Devin, our Senior Talent Partner. The call is via telephone and will last around 30 minutes.
Should it feel like there is an initial fit for all, we will invite you to a video call with the hiring manager for around 45 minutes. This is a more structured interview that will deep-dive into the role and technical needs.
All of our roles will have a small assessment stage. This might be in person, a take-home assessment, or further video calls. Length varies, but we’re mindful of your time and try to keep it as simple as possible.
