Job Description

As a Wind Project Engineer your main responsibilities will be:

  • Manage the engineering phase of wind projects, including technical assessment for civil design during all phases of the project, planning and cost definition, procurement processes, environmental planning, stakeholder management, risk management and internal decision processes.
  • Wind farm design feasibility and constructability check during early stage of the projects. Risk definition and CAPEX
  • Wind farm design during detailed engineering and construction phase, ensuring technical specifications fulfillment and best solution application.
  • Contribute to selection of best suitable infrastructure layout. Manage co-developers and consultants hired to support project.
  • Technical lead of BOP (Balance of Plant) package during procurement process for turbine projects. Setting specifications and technical requirements for each project, leading technical offers comparations and giving support during contract phase.  
  • Prepare and quality assure technical specifications in BOP tenders, and secure turbine supplier infrastructure requirements are understood and included in the BOP tenders and contracts
  • Act as work package responsible for BOP contract in the construction phase
  • Follow up the civil BOP technical part of the Contract(s) including quality control regarding project work and technical supply.
  • Have good overview of electrical infrastructure and manage interface between civil and electrical BOP (Balance of Plant) and civil BOP and wind turbines
  • Manage and coordinate wind measurement campaign using LiDar or TMM with stakeholders.
  • Participate in technical due diligences
  • Provide technical support to road survey and stakeholders analysis.
  • Participate in turbine technical supplier interactions to ensure best market knowledge
  • Provide project specific cost analysis.
  • Possibility to support other technologies such as solar photovoltaics, battery storage or grid.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering, Geotechnical engineer, mining Engineer, Renewable Energy or similar relevant field
  • Experience from windfarm infrastructure work and knowledge of wind turbine suppliers.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience from renewable energy business or relevant infrastructure projects and one year experience with wind projects.
  • AutoCad 2D and Civil 3D (desired) operation for civil design, especially wind farms.  
  • Desirable: WindPro, Windographer, MySQL and Matlab.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Driven license
  • Able for frequent visits to site and work at a project site during construction.
  • Ability to be hands-on and perform high quality work within tight deadlines

Statkraft manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries. The applicant must be eligible for Norwegian security clearance and authorization.
