The Role:

Studio XAG is looking for a highly creative and experienced 3D Visualiser (retail and interiors) to join the design studio on a freelance basis to support the team in creating WOW moments for our clients. 

You will be working independently or as part of a team led by an Associate Design Director crafting high-end 3D visualisations and renders for a variety of retail design projects. You will often be working at the latter stage of a design project timeline when final quality 3D renders are required, so the ability to work strategically and collaboratively to meet deadlines is essential. 

You’ll also need to be confident in your ability in creating high quality, photorealistic visuals (tailored in style to the client and project) using C4D (Redshift), Sketchup (V-Ray) and Adobe Creative Suite.

Ideal Experience: 

  • 5+ ​years​ ​of 3D​ ​visualisation experience​ ​from an agency, brand or freelance work
  • Experience in a retail design team and/or architecture team with a proven ability to create photoreal render quality outputs at the highest level. Ideally within the Luxury sector
  • Experience and knowledge of the design process across retail projects specifically (windows, store design, pop-ups) Is ideal
  • A​ ​keen​ ​creative​ ​eye,​ ​with​ ​the expert ​skills​ needed ​to​ ​generate high quality 3D visuals tailored to clients and projects in a fast paced industry
  • Proven experience producing final quality visualisations of interior and exterior spaces using advanced lighting, materialisation and modelling

Skills & Responsibilities:

  • A keen eye for detail and a high taste level 
  • Experience in creating visualisations of retail interior spaces using a variety of software 
  • Collaborating with the design team on a project to offer advice and guidance on 3D visualisation and best practice for model handover and setup 
  • An expert knowledge of lighting, materialisation and render settings to create world-class visuals which may be used in client presentations or press releases 
  • Able to adapt style to different clients and projects
  • Ability to take ownership of the 3D visualisation process after being briefed by an ADD or Lead Designer, acting as an expert advisor on the topic 
  • Strong organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Supporting with training junior team members on 3D visualisation when required 
  • Expert knowledge of C4D (Redshift), Sketchup (V-ray) and/or 3DS Max and Adobe Creative Suite (we are open to discussing other 3D workflows) 
  • Knowledge of 3D animation and video would be advantageous

Location: 

This freelance role is fully remote although occasionally we may request that you come into the studio for briefing meetings on complex projects.
