We invite qualified individuals to apply to join the USU Controller’s Office in an Office Assistant position. We believe in maintaining an open and relaxed atmosphere with both planned personal training opportunities and team fun events. If you desire to work in such an environment and meet the qualifications, we are anxious to receive your application.This self-motivated individual will be responsible for Purchasing related tasks at Utah State University in the Controller's Office. They will perform a variety of administrative support/and or secretarial duties.

Responsibilities

  • Performs office duties, including answering phones, directing calls to appropriate parties, data entry, filing, appointment scheduling, and other general duties as assigned.
  • Provides administrative support, including scheduling appointments, coordinating and attend meetings/conferences, and maintaining/ordering office supplies.
  • Greets and directs visitors.
  • Sorts, screens, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Composes and word-processes various standard documents and correspondence.
  • Arranges maintenance of office equipment.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains record keeping systems.
  • Monitors project statues to verify correctness and completion.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of relevant experience OR an Associates degree.
  • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in written form
  • Must have experience in working in multiple computer programs simultaneously including Windows, Excel, and web browsers.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information
  • Skilled with basic office equipment, including printers, copiers, and telephone systems.
  • Accurate ten-key and keyboarding required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bookkeeping/accounting related work experience of Associate’s degree or certification in business/related field.
  • Knowledge of USU’s Banner Finance System.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and acquire new skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Skilled with computers and related software.
  • Skilled with basic office equipment, including printers, copiers, and telephone systems.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential business data and personal information.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

General Office Work:Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
